- Corporate Safety Manager
Description
The Corporate Safety Manager plays a key role in supporting a large, self-performing specialty subcontractor operating across multiple trades, including drywall, roofing, metal decking, fireproofing, insulation, and more. This role ensures company-wide compliance with all applicable safety regulations while promoting a proactive safety culture across diverse job sites. The Safety Manager develops and enforces policies, conducts site audits, leads training, investigates incidents, and partners with field teams to reduce risk and protect the well-being of our workforce.
Conduct regular job site audits to assess safety practices, identify hazards, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Partner with project managers and field leadership to resolve safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
Develop, update, and maintain company safety policies and procedures.
Investigate accidents and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend preventative measures.
Maintain accurate safety records, including employee training certifications, inspection logs, and incident reports.
Provide coaching and enforce safety policies through both positive reinforcement and disciplinary action when needed.
Travel regularly to support project teams across multiple locations, while managing travel expenses responsibly.
Requirements
In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety regulations.
Minimum 3 years of safety experience in construction or related industry.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate records.
Physically able to access all areas of job sites, including ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms.
Demonstrated critical thinking and sound judgment in high-stress situations.
Ability to communicate complex safety topics in a clear and accessible manner.
Certifications: CHST, STSC, OSHA 510 (or willingness to obtain).
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
