Summary: Independently hand-finishes production parts by deburring and other methods and removes excess metal and surface defects from such items as hardware, material, assembled parts, etc. prior to plating or shipping by performing the following duties per blueprint and work instruction requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned)
Selects abrasive belt or wheel according to grain size, type of finish specified, product being polished, or amount of metal to be removed.
Attaches wheel or belt to drive mechanism.
Starts equipment and manipulates workpiece against abrasive wheel or portable wheel against workpiece to remove metal and surface defects.
Examines part for acceptability of dimensions and finish.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MRP Manufacturing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Other Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of deburring process.
Must be able to complete work with little to no supervision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and employee is required to wear hearing protection. Safety Shoes and safety glasses are required for all employees in this environment. Gloves and dust masks are also required for certain operations.
Hourly pay: $20.70 - $29.22
