MAINTENANCE -Precision Metal Fabrication Industry
(Lee's Summit, MO)
Maintenance Tech/Engineer (1 Positions Available)
SUMMARYThe Maintenance Tech/Engineer's primary mission is to ensure the operational readiness of production equipment and other mechanical machinery and facility by completing preventive maintenance and trouble shoot any malfunctions in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
Compensation: Hourly, Some Experience or Very-Experienced welcome to apply. Part-Time. Day Shift. (Great Opportunity for Retired Engineer.)

Labor• Complete maintenance tasks safely and according to machine specifications,
and in a timely fashion on a variety of CNC equipment and 50,000 sqft facility.
- Schedule and Communicate with outside Machine Tool Vendors about their
maintenance programs for their specific machinery.
Inspection and Paperwork• Reads and interprets electrical / mechanical schematics and blueprints
• Works with Machine Tool Vendors and various maintenance contracts
- Ability to use and document maintenance issues and use Lock Out/Tag Out
- Measures personal performance hourly with a computer time badge per job
Use of Tools and Machines• Insures safe operation of equipment at all times
- Fundamental understanding of production equipment machinery and
hand tools
• Anticipates, recognizes, and communicates when machine malfunctions or is in
need of maintenance
Communication• Communicates verbally with Co-workers, Supervisors and Managers
• Understands and follows instructions or gets clarification
• May participate in meetings
Education and/or Experience RequiredQualified candidate should have a high school diploma, its equivalent or higher. May have to complete formal training in area of specialty or have equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience with Punch Press, Press Brake or Machining Equipment, and an understanding of Operator Process Controls highly preferred.
Knowledge of manufacturing process and electrical systems is desirable.
Language SkillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Must be trainable in English paperwork.
Mathematical Skills
Must be proficient in the use of decimal numbers, calipers, or other measurement equipment, and basic math.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple and standard maintenance tasks. Ability to deal with variable situations and problem solve.
Personal SkillsDependable; concern for work-safety program; willingness to pitch in and work in areas other than outlined in the job description. Work in a team environment or independently. Works with integrity and ethically. Upholds organizational values.
Physical Effort:
Frequent lifting of 5-35 pounds, occasional lifting of 50+ pounds; frequent use of hands, gross manipulation, and major hand movements, and simple grasping; occasional pushing of 150-200 pounds, pulling of 150-200 pounds; hand and body twisting; frequent walking, standing, bending, stepping up and down, climbing ladder or step ladder, carrying, and reaching.
Work Standards and ConditionsBe able to work with general supervision. Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
In-Door conditions are controlled and are adjusted for out-door weather conditions.
Noise level is occasionally elevated and standard protocols are to be followed to maintain a safe environment, including but not limited to ear plugs, gloves, and appropriate clothing.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Maintain high quantity and quality of work.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to maintain regular attendance per current attendance standards.
Must be available to occasionally work various shifts, including Saturdays; Overtime, and other duties as assigned.
