We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Machining Production Manager to lead our machining operations and help us continue to push the boundaries of what's possible.
The Role
We are looking for a results-driven Machining Production Manager with extensive CNC expertise and proven leadership skills. This is a hands-on role where you will serve as both a strategic manager and a subject matter expert, overseeing our machining department while personally tackling the most complex machining and operational tasks.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute strategies to optimize all machining operations, focusing on cost efficiency, quality, and delivery speed.
- Manage and refine production schedules, job allocations, and resource planning to meet production goals.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, performing advanced CNC programming using Mastercam software and providing expert guidance on complex machining challenges.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of Lead Machinists, Machinists, and Machine Operators, fostering a culture of high performance and safety.
- Work closely with the Additive Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure seamless production handoffs and troubleshoot part discrepancies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new and existing processes.
- Perform and oversee equipment calibration, maintenance, and organization to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient machine shop.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and extensive experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling and lathe machines.
- Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and GD&T symbols with high accuracy.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of effectively managing and mentoring production teams.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex operational issues.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for effective cross-functional teamwork.
- Practical experience with metal additive manufacturing and its integration with post-machining operations is highly desired.
