Position Overview
This fast-paced hybrid position requires the candidate to have the ability to manufacture components to customer specification using Wire and Small Hole EDM skills. This position will primarily be based in the EDM Department, as a Wire EDM Operator. However, when the workflow dictates, the candidate will move to the CNC Department, as a CNC Machinist. In this role, the candidate will operate, set up, and troubleshoot CNC milling and lathe machines to produce high-precision parts for our clients. This is a key role where the candidate will ensure that all projects are completed efficiently, with attention to detail and adherence to strict quality standards. Ability to work independently with general direction from management or perform tasks when given specific work instructions will allow this candidate to succeed in the environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Setup and operate wire EDM machines: AgieCharmilles Cut P550, Cut 200Sp, Cut 300, and FI440ccS.
- Setup and operate CNC holepoppers, Belmont and Titan.
- Set up and operate Haas CNC milling and lathe machines.
- Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
- Inspect finished parts for quality and precision using a variety of measuring tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine and tooling issues to maintain smooth operations.
- Routine maintenance of machines as required
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience setting up and operating wire EDM machines.
- 3-5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC milling and lathe machines.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in ESPRIT and Mastercam is highly desirable but not required.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to quickly resolve machine issues.
- Ability to multi-task as cycle time allows.
- Ability to work well with others.
