Position Summary: The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on all shop equipment, tools, and facility systems at Triad Fabricator's fabrication and machines shops. This position requires hands-on mechanical and electrical experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage maintenance operations in a busy fabrication environment. Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Supervise and perform maintenance, inspection, and repair of shop equipment, machinery, welding systems, CNC machines. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems, including control panels, motors, wiring, air systems, and automated shop equipment. Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate maintenance records for all assets. Manage and direct third-party service providers, ensuring safe and efficient work practices. Support operations by ensuring critical equipment remains operational and downtime is minimized. Work closely with shop management to prioritize repairs. Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and environmental regulations. Maintain parts inventory, order supplies, and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs or services. Provide technical support and training for other team members as needed.
Skills and Abilities
- Skilled in mechanical and electrical repair, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Ability to develop, implement, and oversee maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment uptime. Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues quickly and effectively. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and train a maintenance team while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Deep commitment to enforcing safety procedures and maintaining compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with shop personnel, management, and vendors. Able to manage multiple priorities, delegate tasks, and meet maintenance deadlines. Capable of working independently and adjusting to changing priorities, equipment needs, and production demands.
Education/Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment or facility maintenance, preferably in an industrial or fabrication/machine shop environment. Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Proven leadership or supervisory experience. Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding machinery.
