We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic or Senior Maintenance Mechanic in the Plant Maintenance department at the Water Reclamation Facility (Wastewater). Maintenance Mechanics are essential in assisting that the Water Reclamation Facility is consistently operational by performing a variety of skilled tasks in the operation, installation, and maintenance of the mechanical and distribution system.
Essential functions include:
- Perform semi-skilled preventive and corrective maintenance on the facilities mechanical systems including, but not limited to solids handling, chemical storage and piping, process piping, air compressors, pumps, valves, carpentry, welding, and painting.
- Inspect, install, troubleshooting, repair, and maintain wastewater mechanical equipment and machinery (pumps, valves, gates, actuators, air compressors, motors, blowers, centrifuges, grinders, etc.).
- Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of piping (PVC, CPVC, ductile iron pipe, cast iron, stainless steel, etc.) throughout the facility.
- Use and maintain a variety of hand tools, power tools, hoisting and lifting machinery.
- Complete work orders daily in our work management system.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Maintenance Mechanic Requirements: Graduation from high school and three (3) years experience in a maintenance mechanic field. Commercial Driver License (CDL) with an air brake endorsement is preferable. Must be able to obtain a Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) within 6 months of employment and Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within the first 12 months of employment.
Senior Maintenance Mechanic Requirements: Graduation from high school and five (5) years of combined experience in a maintenance mechanic field. Must have experience in leading maintenance mechanics staff in large and small group projects. Must have experience in compiling take off list for large improvements/projects. Troubleshooting and diagnosing problematic areas at a wastewater reclamation facility. Commercial Driver License (CDL) with an air brake endorsement is preferable. Must be able to obtain a Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) within 6 months of employment and Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within the first 12 months of employment.
