Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in science and engineering on behalf of national security. The Prototype Fabrication (PF) Division is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to provide exceptional operational and technical leadership for the Division’s Manufacturing Group.

Responsibilities:

• Take a lead role in developing and maintaining proper safety, security, environmental and quality assurance controls to conduct fabrication operations in accordance with applicable Laboratory, federal and state requirements
• Provide line management and technical leadership of multi-disciplinary teams
• Oversee the specific capabilities of the Manufacturing Group, including production control, CAD/CAM, manufacturing engineering, metal fabrication and machining for hazardous and non-hazardous materials

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 8+ years of relevant experience
• Previous experience in leading and managing machining and fabrication operations, managing hazardous material operations and overseeing the financial, strategic and technical planning for a manufacturing group
• Experience in successfully managing all functions of line management
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships with various stakeholders
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience with shop management software systems and operating machine tool equipment preferred
