We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing visual inspections of welds to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. This position involves working both in the field and in the lab, coordinating with contractors, engineers, and clients to ensure welding quality and documentation accuracy.
Responsibilities:
Perform visual inspections and verification of welded joints in accordance with AWS, ASME, and other applicable codes and standards.
Conduct NDT (non-destructive testing) as qualified and required.
Review welding procedures, welder qualifications, and test reports for compliance.
Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project managers.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company and site safety policies.
Qualifications:
Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
Experience with structural steel fabrication, erection, and/or pipeline welding preferred.
Knowledge of AWS D1.1, D1.5, and related codes.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Strong attention to detail, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently in varying site conditions.
Preferred (but not required):
NDT certifications (MT, PT, UT, RT)
Experience with DOT, bridge, or industrial projects
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
