Description

Baldridge & Associates Structural Engineering, Inc. (BASE), an award-winning "Best Place to Work" firm, is seeking a personable and reliable Special Inspector on a full or part-time basis to join our team. 

This position requires independent inspection of building structures during construction to ascertain whether construction methods, practices, materials and workmanship conform to provisions of contracts, plans, specifications, regulations and standard methods of work. Candidate must have appropriate ICC and/or ACI certifications (or ability to obtain); be able to keep detailed records of work completed and materials used; prepare and submit routine inspection reports as directed; and perform other related duties as assigned. 

This position is responsible for inspecting one or more of the following with ICC & ACI Certifications: 

- Concrete
- Reinforcing Steel & Prestressing Steel Tendons
- Structural Welding
- High Strength Bolting
- Structural Masonry
- Spray Applied Fireproofing
- Piling, Drilled Piers and Caissons
- Shotcrete
- Sheathed Shear Wall & Diaphragms
- Complete Load Path & Uplift Ties

Requirements

Requirements: 

- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to properly move and lift up to 50lbs 10-20 times per day
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs and ladders multiple times per day
- Must tolerate exposure to outdoor weather conditions
- Background in construction and plan reading
- ICC and/or ACI certifications are required certifications for this position
- Must be able to obtain a DBIDS/military base access pass (background check required)
