Under general supervision of the Automation Manager, the Robotic Welding Technician is responsible for the operation, advanced programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of robotic welding projects. This experienced-level role works independently on complex programming and process-development work and provides technical guidance to Robotic Welding Technician I staff.

Independently develop and debug full robot programs, including searching functions, error handling, coordinated motion, weld path development, and PLC communication, using robot teach pendants & various 3D offline programming software.
Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
Develop weld parameters for new or complex customer processes and validate that weldments meet or exceed established standards.
Service the robot weld torch and wire feeding system, including changing the torch, contact tips, gas diffusers, insulators, nozzles, drive rolls, and welding wire.
Lead troubleshooting of complex robot and process issues, perform preventative and regular maintenance, and recommend process improvements.
Maintain robotic weld quality and efficiency across assigned projects.
Read and interpret weld prints, layouts, mechanical prints, and electrical schematic drawings.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to Robotic Welding Technician I and other staff.
Assist with electrical and mechanical assembly to meet project schedules.
Meet project schedules; provide the manager and project manager with timely status reports on projects.
Travel as required to complete project tasks or field service assignments.
Stay current on new developments in robotic welding and automation.
