Description

Plant Manager - Milwaukee, WI

This position will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. This role will drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes. The position will develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  • Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
  • Assist in planning major projects and capital investments. Coordinate and implement approved projects on a timely basis within approved budget limits.
  • Supervise and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures, such as training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction and work simplification.
  • Liaison between Management and Supervisor level on matters of communication, decisions, policies and procedures. Perform employee evaluations and appraisals.
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
  • Commit to plant safety procedures
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements
  • Influence and learn from production team
  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts

Plant Manager - Racine, WI

A key member of the Operational Management Team that will provide leadership and vision for Machine Shop Production, Continuous Improvement and Planning. A Leader with an exceptional business mind capable of bringing new ideas and utilizing skills to maximize customer satisfaction and ensuring cost effective delivery of quality parts.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • With a long-term strategic view, work with the Operational Management team to guide and develop the business towards further successful growth.
  • Drive and implement lean projects with proven success of waste elimination techniques, six sigma tools, and continuous learning.
  • Provide overall responsibility for all resources assigned to the Machine Shop, to achieve all quality, cost, and service objectives and to ensure all quality programs, initiatives and commitments are maintained and enhanced.
  • Ability to optimize the utilization of resources in terms of people, machines, and material.
  • Support the site Integration of new manufacturing processes and ensure the continual smooth running of the department during this period.

Other responsibilities:

  • Support the achievement of departmental KPI’s.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
  • Support the maintenance of all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Encourage two-way communication and feedback.
  • Provide feedback on issues and concerns arising, along with potential solutions.
  • Drive the team to achieve ‘Right First Time’ manufacture of components as well as ‘On Time in Full’ delivery of parts and assemblies.
  • Ensure the available resources are fully utilized daily and cross functional training is considered to support business growth.
  • Liaison between Management and Supervisor level on matters of communication, decisions, policies and procedures. Perform employee evaluations and appraisals.


Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • BS degree in Business Management or related field or equivalent education and work experience
  • Proven work and managerial experience as a Plant Manager
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and ERP software.
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
