Work Hours: 75 hours bi-weekly (8am-4pm daily) Salary Range: Dependent on experience
Job Summary
This position involves skilled technical work in the field of Prosthetics, under the supervision of a Certified Orthotics. You’ll fabricate and repair prostheses, and adaptive devices
Key Duties
Manufacture and assemble Orthotic and adaptive devices Work with materials such as plaster, metals, and thermoplastics Fill prescriptions for patient-specific prosthetic requirements Operate machinery (e.g., band saws, grinders, sewing machines) Supervise or assist students and volunteers in fabrication procedures Physical & Mental Demands
Lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs Prolonged standing and manual work using hand tools Requires fine motor control and precision Sustained visual and mental focus working with sharp tools and machinery High attention to safety and accuracy Qualifications
Registered status (and maintenance thereof) with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC) Demonstrated experience in: Plasterwork Metal bending Thermoplastic molding Lamination of upper/lower extremity Orthotics Strong technical and communication skills Knowledge on current components and technologies in Orthotics Summary

Requirements
This role is ideal for a hands-on Orthotic technician with a strong technical background and passion for crafting custom medical-assistive devices. The role requires collaborative and independent work. We are looking for someone with 3-5 years hands on experience in the field.
