IAS is seeking individuals to work in contract positions as Assessors for the IAS Metal Building Assembler Inspection Accreditation Program (AC478). Assessors may work out of their home office, but travel is required to do assessments from job sites.
The ideal assessor will have a strong background in the metal building industry with experience in field assembly of metal building systems and awareness about the IAS Accreditation Criteria for Inspection Practices of Metal Building Assemblers AC478. Experience in conducting assessments or inspections is preferred.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal), and the ability to work with Microsoft Word documents would be preferred. If you enjoy traveling, establishing your own schedule, and would like to work with a team of like-minded professionals in the leading U.S. accreditation body, then we would be interested in having you join our team of assessors.
Requirements
Assessors will be responsible for traveling to construction sites across the United States to assess contractors assembling metal buildings. The assessment is to verify if companies have met the IAS AC478 criteria that is required to become accredited by IAS under the Metal Building Assembler Inspection program. Knowledge of the process for erecting metal buildings is required for this position. Travel is also a requirement. Performing the assessment and assessment report is a requirement. New assessors will be trained on the IAS accreditation criteria. Assessors must be able to manage a meeting with applicant companies and present the results. Good communication and computer skills are neccessary.
