We are seeking a skilled and dependable Equipment Mechanic to join our team and help maintain our diverse rental fleet.
Position Summary
The Equipment Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining a wide variety of rental equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for customer use. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and takes pride in quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on rental equipment according to manufacturer and company standards.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and engine-related issues
- Repair and maintain a wide variety of equipment including excavators, skid steers, aerial lifts, generators, compressors, lawn and garden equipment, trailers, and other construction equipment.
- Inspect equipment for damage, wear, and safety concerns upon return and before rental.
- Complete service records, repair orders, and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues in the shop and occasionally in the field.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and minor machine work as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate equipment status and repair needs with management and rental staff.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment when necessary.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
Previous experience repairing construction, industrial, agricultural, automotive, diesel, or rental equipment preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and power transmission components.
Ability to read service manuals, parts diagrams, and repair documentation.
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Ability to work independently and efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with equipment repair.
