Description
The Human Resources Manager is a key member of the plant leadership team, responsible for aligning people strategies with business objectives to support operational excellence, organizational growth, and employee engagement. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership across employee relations, leadership development, talent management, workforce planning, and HR operations for a dynamic metal fabrication manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and leadership team on workforce strategy, organizational effectiveness, and culture.
- Develop and implement HR initiatives that support business objectives, employee engagement, retention, and operational performance.
- Utilize HR metrics and workforce insights to identify trends and recommend solutions.
- Partner with plant leaders to strengthen leadership capabilities at all levels of the organization.
- Coach and develop supervisors and managers on performance management, employee engagement, communication, conflict resolution, and talent development.
- Drive succession planning and talent development initiatives to build internal leadership pipelines.
- Lead employee relations strategies that promote a positive, respectful, and high-performing workplace culture.
- Investigate and resolve employee concerns, policy issues, and workplace conflicts in a fair and consistent manner.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and HR best practices.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of three HR professionals.
- Establish clear priorities, accountability, and development plans to build a highly effective HR function.
- Foster a customer-service-focused HR team that supports employees and leaders across the plant.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and workforce planning processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations, leadership coaching, and organizational development.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to influence leaders, build relationships, and drive results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
