Great River Energy has an opening for a Maintenance Mechanic position to provide routine and emergency maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure safe, efficient and reliable electric plant operation.

Responsibilities:
Perform complex overhauls, predictive, preventive maintenance, and breakdown maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment to ensure plant availability and to maximize plant efficiency.
Coordinate the planning, implementation, startup and long-term operations of new equipment and systems to facilitate safe, accurate and efficient operations.
Manage all aspects of existing equipment and process maintenance for assigned plant area while ensuring safe and reliable operations.
Maintain proficiency through continuous learning and regulator compliance.
Utilize, maintain and update detailed maintenance documentation records including but not limited to vendor prints, manuals overhaul or rebuild reports, calibration logs, computerized maintenance management system, etc.
Facilitate and sustain the self-directed work team by demonstrating employee competencies and values, showing a high level of team commitment and mentoring each other to achieve success.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include vocational or technical training in various phases of mechanical maintenance, welding, and/or pipefitting; and/or equivalent combination of experience required; and/or equivalent military experience. A two-year degree in mechanical maintenance is preferred. Three years of mechanical maintenance experience with an electric plant preferred.
Schedules shall be any combination of eight-, ten-or twelve-hour shifts and includes days, afternoons, nights, weekends and holidays.
