Description
Review daily production plans for all machines and send the daily production reports, reporting various production and machine KPI’s, to Company Headquarters in Barcelona, Spain. Monitor and evaluate machine performances, ensuring daily goals are met. Meet with Team Leads responsible for underperforming machines and create plans to recover and reach goals. Report and analyze daily consumption of steel per machine. Monitor and manage the inventory of steel coils in the facility. Perform material planning analyses for steel needed for production. Manage raw material and semi-finished goods inventory system. Assist in overseeing an annual physical inventory. Investigate any discrepancies and make adjustments as needed. Assist logistic department and planning department with production order tracking. Analyze work in progress report to make sure production orders don’t take longer than 3 days in each phase. Coordinate the installation process for different equipment, specially focus on the civil engineering part of the process, contacting vendors and supervising the correct execution on site according to what the machine manufacturer demands on his installation drawings. Lead different improvement projects such as relocation of all weld cells and installation of a new exhaust system. Contact different vendors to test several exhaust system options and coordinate both Interlake Mecalux’s team and vendor’s team to get the machines in place and with the improved exhaust system. Make workforce related decisions like the hiring or termination as required by the workload. Coordinate with maintenance department machine stoppage to perform the required preventive maintenance in a way that allows reducing the impact in the production goals. Manage the resources that are available to allocate them in the best way to meet the weekly objectives as planned.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology or related. Must have: 18 months of experience working for a steel racking manufacturer with welding, roll-forming, paint and slitting industrial processes; 18 months of experience forecasting steel coil usage in a manufacturing plant; 18 months of experience with SAP, AutoCAD, and Linx.
