Buyers Products company, a leading manufacturer in the work truck industry, is searching for an Production Supervisor that will demonstrate leadership and utilize their skills and experience to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and can create and implement short-term and long-term processes and procedures. The Weld Production Supervisor oversees daily welding operations to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role combines hands on technical welding knowledge with strong leadership, production planning, and continuous improvement skills.
Primary Job Duties: Operate as a manufacturing leader demonstrating metric-based management in areas of PQDCCC for daily improvement– people/quality/delivery/cost/cash/CI Responsible for driving a culture of safety, accountability, metrics and operational excellence. Direct and coordinate daily welding activities on the shop floor and assign work based on welder skill level, certifications, and project requirements Train and mentor welders, robotic cell operators, and production staff. Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, resolving problems and reporting results on shift production summaries Work with engineering on weld procedures, process improvements, fixture design, and technical issues Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and compliance with specifications Partner with quality control to resolve defects, rework, or process issues Enforce OSHA and company safety policies Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting process variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions and facilitating communications across cross functional teams Ensures effective employee relations, coaching, and employee development Lead or participate in lean manufacturing, 5S, and process optimization initiatives
Skills/ Experience: A minimum of 5 years of operations leadership experience in welding/fabrication manufacturing environment Proficient MS Office suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point. etc.) Excellent written and verbal communications skills Proficient with Lean Management techniques (C.I., 5S, Kaizen, Process optimization) Capability to lead growth in a rapidly expanding organization Education Background: High School Diploma / GED or equivalent Bachelor’s degree preferred
Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Standing, Walking and Sitting for extended period of times (up to 2-3 miles per day) Mobility and dexterity to move around operating machinery and powered industrial equipment Ability to work on site to physically support manufacturing requirements
