THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a talented and innovative Bench Jeweler who thrives in a cutting-edge environment. If you're a creative artisan with a passion for jewelry repair, fabrication, and custom design, and you love working with state-of-the-art equipment, this is the opportunity for you.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Jewelry Repairs: Execute expert-level repairs, including ring sizing, soldering, prong repairs, fixing loose shanks, clasp repairs, and other detailed work.
- State-of-the-Art Equipment: Utilize laser welders for precise and intricate repairs. Operate a laser engraver for personalization and detailed work.
Use the plating machine with a hood vent to execute professional-grade finishes. - Metal Work: Craft and repair jewelry using precious metals such as gold and platinum with advanced techniques.
- Stone Setting: Secure gemstones with advanced setting techniques, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of professional experience as a Bench Jeweler.
- Education: Completion of a recognized bench jeweler training program, such as the Graduate Jeweler Program from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), or a similar program from other reputable institutions.
- Repair and Stone Setting Expertise: Advanced skills in jewelry repairs, including soldering, resizing, prong work, and expert-level stone setting for securing gemstones with precision and durability.
- Technical Knowledge: Extensive experience working with precious metals like gold and platinum.
- Equipment Proficiency: Familiarity with laser welders, laser engravers, and plating machines is highly desirable.
- CAD Proficiency: Experience with CAD software (e.g., Rhino, MatrixGold) is a strong plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
- Onsite
- Location: Hattiesburg, MS
- Workdays & Hours: Tuesday – Friday, Core hours 9:00am – 5:30pm. Saturday, Core hours 9:00am – 4:00pm
